CMTP Basic Credit Risk Course is a conversion Course on the Credit Management Training Programme (CMTP). The course is driven by a set of objectives designed to validate Learners’ understanding across the key elements of commercial lending, including opportunity spotting, screening, loan management, business analysis, cash flow analysis, projections, loan structure and collection techniques. The assessment’s objectives are linked to particular skill development modules.

 The units are carefully selected with a view to helping aspiring credit professionals enhance their core competencies for a successful career in Credit Management.

 

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

CMTP Basic Credit Risk Management Course is designed, primarily to perform the following:

  • Determine a Learner’s potential for future credit training activity
  • Provide a ‘self-discovery’ awareness for Learners as to pre-programme skill/knowledge levels
  • Measure the degree of learning and skill development at the Learner level on completion of the programme
  • Provide institutional orientation towards credit and entrepreneurship.
  • Measure the effectiveness of training at the institutional level on completion of the programme

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Any individual who is involved in or about to become involved in making credit decisions on behalf of the Institution.
  • Holders of High School C- Mean grade with a C- in English and mathematics or the equivalent, who are desirous to work in the credit department of a financial institution.
